Dr. Kyriakos Kazakos is a Medical doctor, specialized in DM and he is Associate Professor in the Nursing Department of IHU and the Director of the Master entitled "Diabetes Mellitus Care” in the same Department. He is also the manager of the Research Laboratory “Diabetes Mellitus and Metabolic Diseases” operating in the Department. As the President of Northern Greece Diabetes Association for 3 years he had organized a number of congresses, seminars, etc. Moreover, he was the scientifically responsible in the national program ARCHIMEDES III: entitled "Diabetes and Alzheimer's Disease". He has participated in many publications in prestigious international journals. Dr. Kyriakos Kazakos as the scientific coordinator and project manager will ensure that the project is administered according to research protocol and perform related responsibilities as required. More specifically he will assist in managing administrative activities associated with the research project, monitor expenditures and prepare reports and also in the assessment of the population, gathering or abstracting data or making presentations.

Dr. Folinas Dimitris possess a Ph.D in Applied Informatics from University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece and a Master of Information Systems from the same Institution. For more than 15 years he has held various teaching posts with the University of Macedonia (Department of Marketing and Operations Management), TEI CM (Department of Logistics) teaching mainly Information Systems, Operations Management and Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He is the author and co-author of over 150 research publications, 8 books, and as a researcher he has prepared, submitted and managed a number of projects funded by National and European Union research entities such as: Attracting Leading Scientists to Russian Educational Institutions, Eurostars Programme, FRS-FNRS. His research interests and working experiences refer to information systems, logistics and supply chain management and technologies.

Dr. Theodora Kafkia works as a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Nursing of the International Hellenic University. She has been awarded a Master’s degree in Human Performance and Health (Exercise and Health) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Department of Physical Education and Athletics, with her dissertation focusing on “Factors affecting the onset of Low Back Pain in hospital nursing personnel and ways to manage it”. Her PhD was awarded from the University of Eastern Finland, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing Science. Her Doctoral Thesis focused on “Assessment and management of pain in patients on Renal Replacement Therapy”. She has a clinical background of 15 years in Renal Care (mainly Haemodialysis) and 5 as a head nurse in Anaesthetics Department. She has been a member of the Education and Research Board of the European Dialysis Nurses Association / European Renal Care Association for (2003-2008).

She has participated in many national and international scientific conferences as an invited speaker, as well as coordinator in round tables and workshops. She is a member of the editorial board of the Hellenic Journal of Nursing Science (the official scientific journal of Regulatory Body of Greek Nurses) and a co-editor since August 2017. She is a reviewer for 4 international scientific journals. She has written or participated as a co-author in 14 chapters in books and has a large number of publications in Greek and English. Her research interests focus on renal nursing, quality of life, quality of care, ergonomics and occupational health and primary care.

Dr. Panagiotis V. Tsaklis, is a Full Professor at the Department of Physiotherapy of the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki (ATEITH) and the Director of the Laboratory of Biomechanics and Ergonomics at the department of Physiotherapy. He is a appointed Associate/Anknuten at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery at the Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. He is the scientific Director of the Center of Education and Lifelong Learning (CELL) of ATEITH. By training, he holds a BSc in Physiotherapy (ATEITH, 1987) and a BSc on Physical Education and Sports Sciences (Democritus Univ of Thrace, 1991). He named a PhD on Exercise Biology, from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2001). He was a PostDoctoral researcher (postDoc studies fellowship) at the Karolinska Institutet Sweden, on the field of Biomechanics and Motor Control (2005-2006). He was trained on "Tissue Engineering" at the department HST – Harvard Medical School & MIT (2007). He was senior researcher and lecturer at the departments NVS & Public Health Sciences of Karolinska Institutet (2005-2009). He was appointed Visiting Scientist at the Dept of Mechanical Engineering (Bioengineering) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (ΜΙΤ) (2008-2012) and he’s member of the Harvard Medical School Post Graduate association. He presents intensive teaching mobility through the του LLP Erasmus+, in many European Universities. Prof Tsaklis, has a reach portfolio of publications, teaching and research, around the fields of Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Ergonomics and Rehabilitation, coordinated and participated in a number of EU funding research and Educational programs (FP3 – FP7 – INTERREG II – Erasmus+ etc).

Dr. Stelios Xanthos was born in Thessaloniki in 1967. He received his diploma in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1991. He was inaugurated doctor at the same Department in 2000. He has worked as a scientific collaborator of Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Greek Atomic Energy Commission. Since 2012 he has been assistant professor in Measurements’ Technology - Instrumentation, at the Department of Automation Engineering of ATEITh and associate professor of the same Department since 2016. His research interests focus on the disciplines of metrology, instrumentation and environmental radioactivity. He has participated in the writing of 39 publications in reputable peer-reviewed international scientific journals, in numerous conferences and research projects.

Dr. Theodosios T. Dr. Nikolaos A. Kantiranis is an Associate Professor of Mineralogy-Petrology at the Department of Mineralogy-Petrology-Economic Geology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has long researching experience in the industrial minerals and rocks with accent in the applications and uses of carbonate rocks, clay minerals and rocks, zeolitic rocks, but also in the examination of metallic deposits, in the evaluation of harmful materials for the public health (asbestos, particulate matter PM10-PM5-PM2.5 etc), in the development of modern materials with bioactive behavior, in the examination of archaeological shells and in the study of geotechnical behavior of soil and rocks. He is expert in the study of materials using all the available scientific techniques such as: polarized microscope, X-ray Diffraction analysis (XRD), Thermal analysis (TG-DTG-DTA), FT-IR analysis, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Coloring measurements. He participated, as project manager or member of project teams, in several national and European research and other projects, related to the study and exploitation of natural resources, the effects of PM on human health, the pollution of the environment, the biomaterials, etc.

Florina Prefectural General Hospital

Florina Prefectural General Hospital is a public hospital that the last 75 years provides health services in the area of West Macedonia. It is organized in 9 Departments; including a diabetic center with 2 Medical Doctors (MD) specialists involved in many research activities. Also there is a Cardiological Department and a Pediatric Department. PHO Clinical hospital “Dr.Trifun Panovski” Bitola

The Clinical Hospital Bitola is built with technical features and capacity to deliver health services to approximately 300,000 patients from the southwestern region of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.The Clinical Hospital of Bitola is a system that follows patients through a specialist-consultative activity to total prevention, diagnosis, curing, treatment and rehabilitation. Clinical hospital Bitola is the leader in health care system in south-west region of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia on secondary level. Our hospital consists twenty four medical departments with 520 beds capacity,including unique departments out of Skopje like Oncology and Nuclear medicine. Number of inpatients is approximately 18,000 and 320,000 outpatients per year, using medical services from 140 doctors specialists.

Few years ago the Clinical Hospital had received new medical equipment from the Government, worth 5-6 million euros. Also: magnetic-resonance imaging; 64 slice computer tomography; laser device for destruction of kidney stones; 4D ultrasound equipment for gynecology and cardiology and respiratory, incubators, respiratory machines. CHB is financed by The National health fund (approximately 10,000,000 Euros per year), funds by the private patients and donations. Concerning the metabolic diseases, we have well organized diabetis center where four doctors specialists for diabetology working with patients on detecting and treating diabetes. Also they have electronic register of these patients and continuosly following patients condition.

General Hospital Veles

Public Health Organisation General Hospital Veles was founded in 1946 as City Hospital for Patients with Tuberculosis. The firm building was built in 1965. In 1976 A, B and C tracts were built as addition to the previous building and it functioned as a whole together with Public Health Organisation Medicinal Centre Veles. Starting from 1st Junce, 2005, with the Amendments to the Law of Healthcare, it functions as General Hospital Veles, with Prvision 1-10226/24 from 10.12.2004 issued by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of North Macedonia. PHO General Hospital Veles, with the capacity of 285 hospital beds is a working environment of specialist, consultative and hospital departments that give services of secondary level of 10% of the Republic of North Macedonia population, i.e. to the population of Municipality of Veles, Chashka, Gradsko and Rosoman, of Vardar Region as well as settlements that naturally belong to the City of Veles, according to the censure in 2002. General aim of PHO General Hospital Veles, as a public health institution of secondary level in our country, is giving diagnosis and treatment to patients in its specialist ambulances, departments, laboratory and radio diagnosis. The working hours are organized in 13 departments (anesthesiology with intensive care, isolation departments, pediatrics, surgery, urology, orthopedic with trauma centre, genecology and obstetrics, internal, neurology, psychiatric ailments with centre for addictions, physical medicine and rehabilitation, ORL and ophthalmology. Dr. Dimitar Strovjanoski was born on December 7, 1960, in Veles from parents – medics, mother Zlata, senior nurse, and father Stefan, doctor of medical sciences, infectologist. He finished primary and secondary education in Veles, with excellent success, and he finished higher education at the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje, in 1985. He started his work experience in the emergency medical assistance as an on-site doctor, then he was working as a “factory” doctor, and in 1988 he started his specialization in urology. At the age of 31 he was already a surgeon-urologist and in addition to the most common surgeries of the prostate and calculosis of the urinary tract, he expanded his activity with surgeries of congenital malformations of the urinary tract in male children, as well as surgeries in the field of urogynecology. After 7 years of specialist activity, he established the Department of Urology, and he managed this department in the following 11 years. Dr. Strovjanoski also developed endourology with a procurement of complete endourological equipment without a burden both to the hospital and the state budget, and in the new millennium he introduced the modern treatments of prostate diseases, calculosis of the urinary tract and bladder tumors (TURP, TURBT, lithotripsy in calculosis with lithoclast). He also introduced the minimally invasive methods in urogynecology (stress incontinence, bladder prolapses). Dr. Strovjanoski realized study stays in the Clinical Center Ljubljana in 2000 and 2014, and in the Erasmus Hospital of the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Brussels, in 2001 and 2006, for a period of 3 months, where he was educated in the field of endourology, laser surgery of the prostate, but also robotic surgery of the urogenital tract. Since 2017 Dr. Strovjanoski performs the function Director of the PHI General Hospital Veles.

Mr. Blagoj Angelovski is the Chief of Law department in the PHI General hospital Veles. He has a Bachelor of law - faculty of law Iustinianus Primus, from the University Ss.Cyril and Methodius - Skopje, and a Master of Laws LL.M from the same institution.
